Maitri Bagh, adjacent to Bhilai, is a small zoo and park designed for visitors and residents alike. If you count the park's 111 acres, the zoo is the largest in the area by a wide margin. Historical records reveal that Russia and India signed the peace treaty that led to the creation of the Maitri Bagh, also known as the Friendliness Garden, as a symbol of the friendship that existed between the Soviet Union and India.
