The Royal Mughal Garden in Srinagar
Shalimar Bagh is a beautiful Mughal garden located in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Built by Emperor Jahangir for his wife, Nur Jahan, the garden features a symmetrical layout with cascading terraces, fountains, and lush greenery, offering a tranquil retreat from the bustling city.

As you explore Shalimar Bagh, you will be captivated by its lush landscape, adorned with vibrant flower beds, well-manicured lawns, and rows of Chinar trees. The garden is divided into three terraces, each representing a distinct theme.The lowest terrace, known as the Diwan-i-Aam, was meant for public gatherings, while the middle terrace, the Diwan-i-Khas, was reserved for the emperor and his close associates. The uppermost terrace, called the Zenana, was designated for the royal ladies. The terraces are interconnected by a series of canals and fountains that create a soothing ambiance. The central pavilion in the Diwan-i-Khas boasts intricate frescoes and carved pillars, showcasing the artistry of the Mughal era.As you wander through the garden, take the time to admire the views of the Dal Lake and the surrounding mountains.
