Best Beaches in Mahe Island

Anse Intendance Beach

This is a beautiful beach with a raw charm, filled with powdery white sand. The intense turquoise water will hypnotize you and if you’re someone who likes to lie down on the sand and let the day go by, this is the place for you. You won’t find shops here but you can get yourself a drink from the beach bar.

Though it isn’t safe to swim here, you may like to experiment with surfing and other water sports.

To reach this beach, take a cab or a bus from anywhere in the city and get down at the Banyan Tree Resort stop which is right at the beach.

Beau Vallon Beach

Beau Vallon is a bay on the North Western coast of Mahe.

This beach is a great destination for both families and couples. You will love the clear and shallow waters here with the beautiful underwater scenery, making for the perfect spot for scuba diving and snorkeling. In case you are feeling more adventurous, you could also go windsurfing or jet skiing.

There are various restaurants and bars including a night club boasting of beautiful sunset views in the evenings.

This beach is well connected to the road and railway network.

Best Beaches in Praslin Island

Praslin island with its beautiful white sand is surrounded by hills covered with thick tropical forests. It is also the second largest island in Seychelles.

Anse Georgette Beach

Not many are aware of this extraordinarily beautiful beach as it is hidden away in the grounds of the Constance Lemuria Resort. You will fall in love with this quiet beach as well as with its unblemished shades of blue waters.

To visit this beach, you’ll need to call and pre-book. Pass through the grounds of Constance Lemuria Resort to arrive at this beach on the Northwest coast, around 12 minutes away from the Praslin Airport.

Anse Lazio Beach

Welcome to one of the best beaches in the world! It lies at the end of the road on the North West Coast. Easily accessible by car, this beach can get a little overcrowded at times. So, the best time to visit this beach is either early morning or evening.

If you are travelling by bus, get down at Anse Boudin and walk about 20 minutes to reach the beach.

Best Beaches in La Digue Island

This is the smallest of the three inhabited islands in Seychelles. With a relaxed and laid-back vibe, you can soak in the tranquil atmosphere of this island by spending a few days here. The best way to get around this place is to hop on a bicycle and explore the beaches around.

Anse Source D’Argent Beach

About 40 miles away from Mahe, It is one of the most stunning beaches in Seychelles and also one of the most photographed ones.

Good timing is essential in order to avoid high tides and huge crowds here. The water is shallow here so you may wade in the crystal clear blue waters and if lucky, you may even spot a sea turtle swimming off the shore.

Anse Cocos Beach

A 30-minute trek from Grand Anse, this secluded beach flaunts a stunning stretch of sand and beautiful boulders.

It is not safe to swim here but in case you are tempted to take a cool dip, head to the far side of the beach to find a natural pool surrounded by boulders.
