Goa Done Differently—See the Surf Paradise on a Luxury Yacht

Sun, sand and memories of a lifetime – that is Goa in a nutshell. This vibrant holiday destination has been like an annual pilgrimage for me and my gang, a retreat we turn to whenever the rhythm of our everyday lives gets too overbearing. Having explored Goa in different ways – from lounging by the shacks to checking into resorts – we were looking to experience our favourite destination is a whole new light, and the luxury yacht package seemed like the perfect fit.

The Yacht Experience

On the second day of our trip, we stepped out for our first yacht outing ever, sporting our finest hats, sundresses, strappy sandals and totes – in true Sex and the City fashion. Since it was our first time on a luxury yacht, the child-like excitement was palpable. Our only reference point of what to expect from the outing were the swanky yachts one sees in the movies, and boy, the yacht did live up to those standards by every measure. We lounged on the deck, sipping our drinks and munching on the lavish spread of snacks, even as the yacht sped along on the Arabian Sea. With the sea breeze in our hair, expansive horizon on one-side, giant ships sailing in the distance, and Goa’s coastline with bustling vacationers on the other, the hour-long ride left us feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and pampered silly.

Other Highlights

We spent the rest of our time visiting our usual haunts. After making a quick pit-stop at Arjuna Beach, we headed to Vagator Beach to watch the sun go down, and then put on our party shoes for a night full of revelry at Arambol. Sandy beaches, cocktails, beers and lip-smacking food were the clear high points of the trip, which we wrapped up with some shopping at the local bazaars of Panjim.
