Roorkee is a charming city that can be found in the Haridwar district of the state of Uttarakhand. It is set on National Highway 58 and adjacent to the Ganges River. It is about 31 kilometres away from the sacred city of Haridwar. Roorkee is nestled in the foothills of the Sivalik Range, offering pleasant scenery to visitors. The name of the wife of a tribal chieftain inspired the naming of the Rajput city of Roorkee.
