Here’s What Glamping in the Middle of the Thar Desert Looks Like

There’s nothing more therapeutic and enjoyable than spending a few days amidst nature. For us at MakeMyTrip, our annual team offsite was the perfect excuse to do just that! So when we decided on a team holiday to Jodhpur, we planned on doing it in style. Here are some snippets from our exciting and luxurious few days at Manvar Desert Camp- an oasis of comfort and luxury right in the middle of the Thar Desert.

After reaching the city, it takes a two hour drive to get to Manvar. Grab a delicious lunch in the main dining tent with local delicacies like laal maas, pyaaz kachori, mirchibada and makhaniya lassi.

 

After a short nap (or a game of poker) grab a snack and settle in for an evening of rustic singing and dance with a cheerful bonfire as you surrender yourself to the tunes of ‘Padharo Mhare Desh’.

 

Day Two- It is time to set off for a camel ride over the sand dunes and enjoy the rugged beauty of the Thar Desert.

 

End the evening on a romantic note, watching the beautiful orange sun set behind the majestic ocean of sand.

 

After an evening filled with song and dance it is time to call it a day and head to your plush tent offering you all modern amenities in the middle of the desert.

 

Day Three- Today is the day to test the sand dunes and go off on a desert safari! Are you ready for the thrill?

 

Leave the desert behind for a while as you venture into the city to marvel at the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort in the afternoon.

 

As the sun sets slips down the horizon, it’s time to pack our bags and say goodbye to the desert, taking with us beautiful memories of our stay at this lovely desert retreat.
