Jal Mahal, also known as the Water Palace, is a remarkable structure in the city of Jaipur. This low-rise symmetrical palace, that once was a shooting lodge for the Maharajah, appears to float in the centre of Sagar Lake. The light sand coloured stone walls of the Jal Mahal Jaipur are at a stark contrast to the deep blue of the waters of the lake, while from the innards of the palace lush foliage sprouts.

Unfortunately, there are no light & sound shows or activities as the palace is not open to the public. However, the view of the palace from the lake side is breathtaking.
The palace, built in red sandstone, is a five storied building out of which four floors remain underwater when the lake is full and the top floor is exposed.
The best time to visit Jaipur, Jal Mahal is during the winter months of October to March when the weather in Jaipuris perfect for sightseeing.
Jal Mahal is located on the main Amer-Jaipur road and is easily accessible by auto-rickshaw, taxi, or local buses from the city centre.
Although you can't enter the palace, don't miss the opportunity to savour the view from the lake side. Also, try to visit during sunrise or sunset for the best experience.
