Located on the banks of the Ganges, Ahar is a tiny village in the Bulandshahar noted for its ancient temples of Goddess Avantika and Lord Shiva. Located on the banks of the Ganga, Ahar has been inhabited since the time of the Mahabharata. According to the epic, Duryodhana plotted to poison Bhima and murder him.
