In Tamil, mukkombu means "three branches." It is the dam on the Cauvery River, commonly known as the Upper Anaicut or Mukkombu. The dam is around 18 kilometres from Trichy. If you visit Mukkombu on a weekend, you'll find a large group of people gathered in a circle, having a picnic.
