Overview

The Teen Murti Bhavan was built in 1930 by British architect Robert Torr Russel. Formerly, it served as the residence of the Commander-in-Chief of the British Indian Army. Post-Independence, it was designated as the residence of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first prime minister of India. The Teen Murti Bhavan was his residence for 16 years until he died in 1964.

What To Expect?

Admire the stunning architecture as you make your way through the premises. History Buffs can check out the Nehru Memorial Museum which houses a big collection of Nehruji’s items. Various audio-video mediums can be used to understand the story of his life. The Nehru Memorial Library is another marvel that must be explored. It houses many archives of Indian leaders and freedom fighters. The Nehru Planetarium is where all science enthusiasts can see many scientific installations. Many innovative programs are also held here.

Tips

The entry fee for students is INR 20, for children aged between four to twelve years it is INR 30 and for adults its INR 50
The timings are from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm to visit the rest of the complex, while for the planetarium it is 11:30 am to 4:00 pm on all days except Monday.
Check out the souvenir shop and the Kaushak Mahal.
