The Uperkot Fort in Junagarh is an excellent example of a historical structure dating back to the mediaeval period. About 2300 years have passed since this fort was first constructed. Some sections of the fort's walls are twenty metres high. An ancient moat reportedly measured 300 feet in depth and surrounded the fortress. It was originally reported that crocodiles made their home in this moat that was built to keep the fort safe.
