A Once-in-a-lifetime Opportunity!
Treta ka Thakur happens to be one of Ayodhya's well-known temples and is dedicated to Lord Ram, the Lord of the Treta Yug. The temple was rebuilt in 1784 AD by Maratha queen Ahilyabai Holkar after being constructed 300 years earlier by the Kullu monarch. The temple holds great religious significance because Lord Ram performed the "Ashwadmedha Yagya" ceremony here to commemorate his triumph over Ravana.
Suggested Duration - During the Hindu month of Kartik (October-November), preferably on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi
The Treta Ke Thakur Temple is a superb example of the North Indian Nagara architectural style, including traditional "shikharas." Some of the deities whose idols are installed inside this temple are Lord Ram, Lord Shatrughan, Lord Bharat, Lord Hanuman, Lord Lakshman, Goddess Sita and Sage Vashishtha. The worship idols of Shri Ram, his three brothers, and Mata Sita are thought to have been transported from the original temple, which was located beside the Saryu River. Each idol is a single piece made of black sandstone and is all-black.

Some buses or rails take you to parts of the city you wouldn’t get to see otherwise. Whilst using public transportation, just ensure that you are following the local norms and do remember to watch the locals!
• Find a local festival. Go beyond what other tourists might do while visiting a place. Look for the unique things you would want to do. Use social media or the local tourism website to find out what’s going on locally. You may have to move out of the center of the city to do some of the less popular but more unique things, so just keep that in mind!
