A lush green city in Haryana, Jhajjar, is a famous and attractive town. In 1997, on July 15th, the Rohtak district was split off to establish the new town. Chhaju is credited with founding the city now known as Chhajunagar. The town was renamed Jhajjar at a later time. Jharnaghar is the name of a natural fountain, according to the alternative explanation. Another theory is that the town was named Jhajjar because it was formerly home to a ship that carried water.
