It is possible to purchase Polish zloty coins with values ranging from 1 groszy to 50 groszy as well as 1 zloty to 5 zloty. The Zloty is issued and managed by the National Bank of Poland, which serves as Poland's central bank. Although the origins of the currency may be traced back to the early part of the 20th century, the money itself has been redesigned numerous times in reaction to the shifting political and economic atmosphere of the country.

History of the Polish Zloty
The zloty is the currency that can be spent legally in Poland. The origin of the current zloty can be traced back to 1919, however, it wasn't extensively used until the year 1924.
Both the issuance of money and its management are the responsibility of the Narodowy Bank Polski (Central Bank of Poland). And the Polish zloty sign is zł. Since 1997, Poland has maintained its position as the sole holder of manufacturing rights for the zloty currency.
In 1950, all banknotes issued prior to 1948 were exchanged for one hundred of the brand new Third Zoty (PLZ), and all bank assets were redenominated at a rate of 100 to 3. In 1948, all banknotes were redeemed for 100 PLZ. The years 1948 and 1949 were printed on the new banknotes and coins that were issued. According to the legislation in place in Poland from 1950 onward, the value of one zloty, which derives from the word zlotyty, was initially fixed at 0.222168 grammes of gold.
After the fall of communism in 1989, which was followed by hyperinflation, the zoty was forced to undergo a revaluation. On May 11th, 1994, the NBP redenomination project was approved, and on July 7th, 1994, the necessary law was passed. As a direct consequence of this event, on January 1, 1995, 10,000 PLZ was converted into 1 PLN.
Since the beginning of the 2000s, the value of one US Dollar in Polish Zloty has typically ranged between two and four and a half Polish Zloty. On the other hand, even since the start of the Great Recession in 2008, the exchange rate for the PLN has never been lower than three PLN to one dollar.
In the time span between 2013 and 2014, the security features of the banknotes were improved. The coins have the same general appearance as those from the 1994 series, with the exception of a white field and marking on the reverse of each piece. In addition, the new notes feature a peculiar dotted pattern.
Since the 10th of February in 2017, a currency of 500 zlotys depicting a portrait of John III Sobieski has been in circulation.
Countries Accepting the Polish Zloty

Best Ways to Identify Counterfeit Polish Zloty Notes
There are a few ways through which you can spot the counterfeit Polish Zloty notes:
Along with a numeric number that corresponds to the denomination, the image of the Sovereign is watermarked on the front of each freshly redesigned banknote. In the region occupied by the watermark, printing is not permitted.
Under ultraviolet illumination, the value number and the abbreviation "Z" are readable since they are inscribed on a security thread on the reverse side of each banknote.
When the perspective of the viewer is changed, the graphic element that is located to the right of the portrait of the sovereign on the fifty zloty, one hundred zloty, two hundred zloty, and five hundred zloty notes progressively changes colour.
The "K" in a crown pattern that appears on the 50 zloty bill transitions from green to blue as it moves from left to right.
The rosette on the 100-zloty note transitions from gold to green as it moves up in value.
The shield of the two hundred zloty bill changes colour from golden to green, and the chessboard design that is printed on it appears to move.
The design on the 500 z bill depicts a lobster tail that changes colour from green to blue and appears to move in time with a pattern of wavy lines.
Pieces of the security thread can be found on both the front and back of banknotes denominated 200 zloty and 500 zloty. Notes of currency feature a security thread that, when the note is tilted, progressively alters both its colour and its appearance.
The colour of the 200 zloty bill, which features a checkerboard design, goes from golden to green in a seamless transition.
The banknote for 500 zlotys has a design that consists of a gradation from gold to green as well as two ribbons that intertwine with each other.
On the back side of the banknotes worth 10 zloty and 20 zloty, there is an iridescent stripe that features the value numeral and the abbreviation "Z."
